ŠKABRNJA, November 19 (FPB) - Sunday also marked the 10th anniversary of the Škabrnja tragedy. Members of Serbian paramilitary formations and the Yugoslav Peoples Army occupied and murdered 14 defenders and 44 civilians on this day in 1991, marking the blackest day in the history of this small town in the Zadar hinterlands. Deputy parliamentary speaker Ivica Kostović led the commemoration, which was attended by two thousand people. Kostović expressed his disappointment for the state's meek action against those who murdered thousands of people throughout the entire state from 1991 to 1995. Commander of the Škabrinja batallion, Marko Miljanić, former foreign minister and president of the Croatian Victimology Society, Zvonimir Šeparović, and representative of the Ministry of Defenders Blaženka Gogić also addressed the gathering.
